Snoqualmie Mountain and Guye Peak

Snoqualmie Mountain

Guye Peak

A climbers path from Alpental Road (near the Snow Lake Trailhead) provides easy access to these Snoqualmie Pass area summits. Snoqualmie Mtn, is a more rewarding destination with its view from Mt. Baker to Mt. Adams, but Guye Peak is also worth a visit. The path climbs steeply to a fork (complete with a sign) where you have your choice of summits. The route to Snoqualmie Mtn., continues to the left through trees to Cave Ridge, then upward. It is fairly steep, but easy to follow. The right fork of the trail leads through a boulder field, where it can be hard to follow (follow cairns IF they are present), toward Guye Peak. The trail reaches a small pond where the trail splits. The easier route stays to the left of the pond and ascends steeply to the summit area. A short scramble leads to the North Summit. The other summits of Guye Peak can be reached from this area, but requires more challenging climbing on exposed rock and the dangers of climbing should be respected, but maybe the most dangerous part about climbing, is staying home...
